Well, we made it
through another “End of the World”. At least, if you are reading this I presume
that the Mayans were wrong. If you’re not reading this, then perhaps one of the
many and varied doomsday scenarios actually happened on December 21st. On the
other hand, maybe you’re not reading it because you just didn’t come to church
today. Presumably you are reading it, which is good news in that the world
hasn’t ended and you are in church.
But, seeing that we
have escaped yet another “End of the World” scenario, this might be a good time
to reflect on what you are going to do with the rest of your life. Maybe you
want to be lighter and healthier, smoke-free or friendlier. Maybe you want the rest of your life to be
more spiritual—you are going to pray more, give more, attend church more, read
your Bible more, or tell more people about Jesus. If that’s the case, then you
are going to need help because you already know that you can’t do it by
yourself. So, now that you know the world will still be here in 2013, it’s
probably a good time to let God have complete control. Have a great week and remember: To see what is really possible, you
will have to attempt the impossible.
